Les adeptes du salut par la soumission à la seigneurie de Jésus-Christ insistent sur l’affirmation qu'une personne est sauvée éternellement, non seulement en croyant en Jésus-Christ comme Sauveur, mais aussi en s'engageant complètement envers lui comme Seigneur ou Maître de sa vie. Le salut par la foi dépend donc aussi du repentir de tous les péchés et de la preuve ultérieure d'un changement de conduite et de bonnes œuvres.
